Want to donate an artefact, photograph, or papers?

The Acquisitions committee meets once a month to decide on new artefacts that we will

accept into our collection. When you bring in your artefact, we fill out a temporary receipt

which indicates that while we make a decision, we will care for the artefact in the same way

that we care for artefacts in our permanent collection. We also fill out an historical summary

sheet which gathers all the information you know about the artefact.

The committee makes decisions based on the following criteria:

  • Does the object meet the museum's mandate to collect, preserve, and display items

relating to the history of the North Peace Region?

  • Is the object useful to current or future exhibits?
  • What kind of condition is the object in?
  • Do we have similar/duplicate objects in our collection?

Following the meeting, you will be contacted to sign a certificate of gift which transfers legal

ownership of the object to the museum. If we decided not to take your object, we will

explain why and you may pick it up.
