North Peace Historical Society PDF Print E-mail

The North Peace Historical Society has been informally established since September 1963 and became an officially registered society in 1965.  Our current home, located on 100th Street, just a half block east of 93rd Ave., was opened in 1984.We are celebrating our 50th anniversary as a society in 2013.

Interesting facts about the North Peace Historical Society and the Fort St. John North Peace Museum:

  • We are currently fundraising for Phase III of the expansion of the Fort St. John North Peace Museum. We recently added more office space, collections storage space, and exhibit space in Phase II.
  • We have one permanent, full-time staff member and over 50 volunteers!
  • We are a member of the Canadian Museums Association, British Columbia Museums Association, Heritage Society of BC, Spirit of the Peace Museum Network, Fort St. John Arts Council, and the Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce.
  • The North Peace Historical Society currently has more than 120 members.
