Birds of the North Peace

Learn about eagles, owls, goshawks, grouse and more through an interactive presentation and brief film clips! Listen to a local story book on birds. Create a bird glider, make a toilet paper roll owl, and colour and colour and cut an eagle mask. Go on a bird watching hunt through the museum and gift shop to spot and identify birds in our museum collection. (Two versions of the scavenger hunt exist – one for students who can read, and one for K-1 students who are just learning). This program is aimed at Kindergarten to Grade 6.

Duration: 90 minutes (there are also 60 minute to 75 minute versions available)

Cost: $110 plus GST per class (max. 30 students) (adults are free of charge)

PROGRAM FEES ARE DUE BEFORE OR ON THE DAY OF THE PROGRAM.

An adult must accompany every ten students in an elementary school class. We recommended more accompanying adults for grade three and under. It is the responsibility of the teacher and accompanying adult volunteers to maintain discipline throughout the visit.

Please note: This program is also available to come to your classroom (with modified bird watching scavenger hunt using photographs rather than taxidermy birds) for an additional $15 as long as your school is within a 15 minute drive of the museum. We do the driving and save you the hassle of arranging a bus to the museum.
